1. Different unlocking methods
1) Unlock fingerprint lock
Different from electronic locks, fingerprint locks realize unlocking by capturing the fingerprint line information of the opponent, using biometric identification technology. There are generally two ways for fingerprint locks to capture fingerprint information: optical identification and semiconductor identification.
The fingerprint lock equipped with optical fingerprint recognition function will use the built-in light source to project the fingerprint line of the hand, and save the projected picture for future comparison. The semiconductor identification technology uses the conductivity of the finger to transmit electrical signals. The chip uses the calculated current to analyze the characteristics of the fingerprint. Compared with the previous one, the semiconductor fingerprint recognition technology can capture the fingerprint information of the dermis layer, and is more capable of distinguishing true and false fingerprints.
2) Unlock the electronic lock
Electronic locks are also called electronic code locks. As the name implies, its unlocking method is password unlocking. The opening and closing of the lock is realized by a single chip microcomputer (an integrated circuit chip). Before use, we will first enter the number on the memory chip to set the password. When it is to be used, if the number we key in to open the door can be the same as the number on the memory chip, the microcontroller will drive the electromagnetic actuator, which will disconnect the lock from the bolt hole and let the door open.
In addition to key-press password unlocking, electronic locks can also use electronic keys such as cards as their own unlocking passwords. Electronic keys such as cards are composed of components or unit circuits composed of components. When unlocking, the internal circuit of the electronic key will transmit the signal with the receiver of the lock, the chip will analyze the received signal, and the output number will be compared with the password on the memory chip. Compared with the previous method, this method does not require manual input of numbers, and the door opening time is shorter. In general, the unlocking of electronic locks relies on physical parameters such as digital and circuit signals, and the internal algorithms are relatively simple.
2. Different security
1) The reproducibility of the “key”
The electronic key is a real thing, and the shape is small, there is a certain risk of loss. In addition, because of the small number of digits (usually 6 digits), the electronic password has a high possibility of being deciphered or stolen. Therefore, the “key” of the electronic lock has greater reproducibility, which will reduce the safety factor of the portal.
Since everyone’s fingerprints are different, the way of fingerprint identification and unlocking is better in terms of security. Although fingerprints are also at risk of being applied, thieves can use fingerprint sets to unlock them. However, even if there are fingerprints left in the recognition area, most of them are not complete. Therefore, if you want to use a fingerprint to unlock it, the possibility is low.
2) Dependence on power supply
Electronic locks are generally connected to an external power supply, and the opening and closing operations are completed by instructions issued by the single-chip microcomputer. In the event of a power failure, the bolt and bolt hole of the electronic lock will be separated due to loss of magnetism, and the gate will open automatically. On the contrary, the fingerprint lock uses a built-in power supply (dry battery). When the battery of the fingerprint lock is too low, the alarm inside the lock will give a reminder to remind the user to replace the battery. Moreover, fingerprint locks are generally equipped with mechanical keys, which can be unlocked even if the battery cannot be refilled in time.
